Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I get a massage?

Instead of viewing massage as a form of pampering or only a special treat, clients are encouraged to view massage as a necessary part of body maintenance. Just as we need regular exercise and proper nutrition to keep our bodies healthy, massage is also a necessary component for health maintenance. Ideally, massage should be received once a week or a minimum of once a month. The important thing is to listen to your body in order to determine what works best for you.

Will I have to get undressed?

You will only remove as much clothing as feels comfortable for you. You will always be professionaly draped to keep you modestly covered. Only the area of the body that is being worked on is uncovered.

Do I get a full hour of massage?

Yes! Unlike many massage therapists who subtract 10 minutes from your hour for dressing and undressing, you are allowed this time so that you will receive massage for the full amount of time designated.

What if I am late for an appointment?

If you are late for an appointment, the session will be adjusted to perform as much of the treatment as possible within the remaining time. Pricing will not be adjusted for time missed.

What should I do during a massage?

The important thing to keep in mind is that the session is about you and your needs and comfort. Therefore, be prepared to let your therapist know your expectations before your session begins, and do not be afraid to speak up during the session if something is uncomfortable, or if you would like anything to be done differently. Generally, people just close their eyes and relax while others like to talk or ask questions about the techniques they are receiving.

Can massage help old injuries?

People suffering for years from old injuries (i.e., auto accident, workplace injuries, sports injuries, etc.) as well as new traumas, have found massage helps to eliminate their chronic nagging pain. The severe pain caused by new traumas, as well as chronic pain, responds well to the gentle kneading and stretching of massage.

Can massage help sports performance?

Professional and amateur athletes alike find massage stretches tight muscles and improves motion. Restoring full range of motion and relieving tightness helps athletes stay limber and balanced for optimal sports performance. Also, new and recurring injuries are prevented when muscles stay flexible and motion is balanced.
